Speaking comes naturally to many people. Their words feel light and flow easily when they talk. However, for the boy in I Talk Like a River, words feel heavy. This picture book was written by Jordan Scott and illustrated by Sydney Smith. It tells the story of a boy who stutters. Every morning, he wakes up with the sounds of words all around him, but he cannot say them all. At school, he knows what he wants to say, but the sounds get stuck in his mouth.
