There are many different kinds of pollution in our world. Pollution is the introduction of chemicals or substances that have a harmful effect on the environment. It is very common to hear about pollution in the air and water, but have you ever heard of light pollution? Light pollution is a man-made problem, and it has increased about 50% in the last 20 years. We all enjoy the convenience of electric lights; they make life safer and easier.

在我們的世界當中有許多不同種類的汙染。汙染是指引入對環境有害的化學品或物質。常聽到空氣汙染和水汙染，但是你曾聽說過光汙染（或稱光害）嗎？光汙染是人為問題，過去二十年以來增加了約 50%。我們都享受電燈帶來的便利；它們使生活更安全也更輕鬆。
