When people think of Japanese tea, the first thing that often comes to mind is matcha. This bright green drink, made from finely ground tea leaves, has become popular around the world. However, matcha is not the only tea Japan has to offer. Hojicha, with its deep brown color, may seem less impressive at first, but it is a special tea well worth discovering. While it may look similar to black tea, hojicha is actually a type of green tea.
