In spite of the importance of protecting your skin from the sun, some people believe sunscreen is harmful. One of the claims made by these people suggests that a chemical in sunscreen may affect our body’s hormone production. Their concern came from a study that was done on rats. However, in the study, the chemical was fed to the rats instead of being placed on their skin. Scientists have also explained that a person would need to use sunscreen for 277 years to reach the same amount used in this study.
