Hiking is a popular outdoor activity that allows people to enjoy nature while getting exercise. Hikers often focus on beautiful and eye-catching scenes, such as sunrises and sunsets. However, some hikers prefer to slow their pace and pay attention to the small details, like a butterfly resting on a flower. This careful way of observing nature has a name: land snorkeling. The term was created by American artists Clyde Aspevig and his wife Carol Guzman.
