According to Martin Riese, one of the 100 or so water sommeliers in the world, the taste of water is as different as wine. After six years of training, he now works to educate people on the characteristics and unique qualities of water. He believes that how water tastes has strong connections with where the water travels through. The minerals and other compounds that tap water picks up on its journey can result in different tastes. Riese says that most people don’t pay much attention to the various tastes of water.
