Samoyeds are known for being smart and friendly. In the past, they were even given as gifts to royal families. Today, they remain popular as pets and show dogs. One of their most famous features is the “Sammy smile.” Their mouths naturally curve upward, which makes them look as if they are always smiling. In fact, this feature helps prevent drooling and stops icicles from forming on their faces in cold weather. As a breed born in extremely cold regions, Samoyeds have thick fur that keeps them warm.
