A wide range of omamori can be found at shrines or temples across Japan. In Nagoya, a dog omamori with a small bell is linked to a local legend. It’s given to pregnant women as a prayer for safe delivery. In Yamagata, a Kumano shrine produces a special charm that resembles tied strings. It is only made after a monthly prayer festival held on the night of the full moon. Each knot is colored differently, so every piece is unique.
