壹蘋派生活美語　復活節島的年度慶典(二)

For two full weeks, people on Easter Island sing, dance, and party each night and enjoy sports competitions during the days. One big event is a triathlon that involves paddling on a reed canoe, running around a lake carrying two huge bunches of bananas, and then swimming across the lake. Another unique tradition is the Haka Pei. In this extreme sport, competitors slide down a steep hill on a sled made of banana tree trunks.

在整整兩週的期間，復活節島上的人每晚載歌載舞、狂歡享樂，並在白天享受體育賽事。其中一項大型賽事是鐵人三項，這包含划著一艘由蘆葦製成的獨木舟、扛著兩大串香蕉繞著一座湖賽跑，接著泳渡湖。另一項獨特的傳統是 Haka Pei。在這項極限運動中，參賽者乘坐由香蕉樹樹幹製成的長橇，滑下一座陡峭的山坡。
