Studies have also shown that it is harder for people to concentrate when someone is looking at them. This form of eye contact interferes with our imagination and even our working memory. These study results suggest that it may be better to look away from the other person when you need to focus, such as when answering a question. The next time you lock eyes with someone, take note of how you feel and see if it' s more difficult to focus.
