The Art of Racing in the Rain is told through the eyes of Enzo, a loyal dog who looks back on his life with his owner, Denny. As Enzo approaches the end of his life, he recalls the many challenges and joys they have shared. When Denny first adopts Enzo as a puppy, he is single and working at a car dealership. Within a few years, Denny gets married, has a daughter named Zoe, and races cars part-time.
