The Dawn Avatar Robot Café in Tokyo’s Nihonbashi was founded by Ory Laboratory Inc., a Japanese robotics company working to create a friendlier society. Although robot cafés remain relatively new, there are already many places where customers can be served by robots. What makes this café stand out, however, is that its robots are remotely operated by people with physical disabilities. The robots used in the café were originally developed by Ory Laboratory Inc. to assist people who are bedridden due to illness or disability.
